But it is in the coolness of the Bottaccio garden that the luxury of tranquility reaches its excellence. Nino Mosca’s cuisine creates an authentic alchemy between the freshest fish and the fruits of the surrounding woods, and where local excellence is valued.

Water, art and marble: the characteristic signs of Bottaccio. The sea of Versilia, torrents and streams that descended from the Apuan Alps to move the big wheel that can still be admired in the garden today.

The marble quarries where Michelangelo chose the ‘white gold’ which he then transformed into his immortal works. Where contemporary artists have found the raw material for the creations which today are reflected in the water of a swimming pool in the center of a large restaurant room, where the olives were once harvested.

The D’Anna couple, gallery owners, patrons and owners of a private English college, have created a family residence at Bottaccio and, as they like to point out, a hotel for those who don’t like hotels.
